Due to a shortage of veterinary professionals and support staff, we are not able to fulfill appointments for the foreseeable future.

We remain open for food and medication pick up Monday - Thursday 9am - 6pm.

If your pet requires veterinary care please contact Elmvale Veterinary Hospital or use our telemedicine service Smart.Vet.  We are working hard to hire additional staff so we can reopen for appointments.

We apologize for the disruption and appreciate your understanding.

Euthanasia Services for Pets

Providing compassionate care during a difficult time.

When your loyal companion gets to the final stage of their life our team is here to provide support. We offer compassionate care and guidance on how to keep your cat or dog comfortable until their final moments. Our team wants to extend our deepest condolences to you and your family during this difficult time. As animal lovers, we understand the deep bond that you share with your cat or dog and that makes it even more difficult to say goodbye. We encourage you to reach out to our team to learn more about our euthanasia services. Please call us at 705-325-4224.

What is euthanasia?

It is the medical term used to describe a pain-free death. During euthanasia, a high-dose seizure medication is given through intravenous injection to the patient. The drug immediately stops the vital organs from functioning, which allows the patient to pass away peacefully.

Can I be present when my cat or dog is euthanized?

Absolutely! Pet parents are allowed to be present during your loyal companion's final moments. We understand that some of our clients may find it difficult being there and that's also okay. We will allow pet owners a few moments before and after the procedure to say their last goodbye.

What happens after euthanasia?

Once the procedure is carried out you can choose to have the remains of your cat or dog cremated or buried. Our team can recommend facilities that offer these services or suggest different ways to memorialize your loyal companion. We can also recommend grief counselling groups to help you cope with your loss.
